Review & Description
The newest in the Wow series of contemporary Christian music is as slick-sounding and solid as its successful predecessors. The two-disc set begins with a solid alterna-anthem (DC Talk's plaintively overwrought but super-catchy "Into Jesus") and ends with a kiss (Fernando Ortega's inspiring, Nashville-tinged "Lord of the Eternity"). The compilation's 33 tracks really do run the gamut: the polished, pure pop of Avalon and Point of Grace; Christian swing music; the atmospheric, spiritual sounds of Maire Brennan and Jaci Velasquez; the spirited belting of rocker Jennifer Knapp; a dance-pop act from the U.K.; the veteran confessional singer-songwriter folk of Amy Grant; Christian ska; and the late Rich Mullins's moving, visionary gospel-folk.
